Mat Top Clean
A professional surface cleaning designed to remove sweat, dirt, oils, and everyday buildup. Mats are mechanically scrubbed and disinfected using commercial grade equipment and products, leaving the training surface clean, fresh, and ready for training.
Equipment Cleaning & Disinfection
Thorough cleaning and disinfection of wall pads, heavy bags, training equipment, and other frequently touched surfaces. This service helps reduce grime and buildup throughout your facility and creates a cleaner environment for athletes and students.

A detailed overview of our sanitization procedures optimized for the rigorous demands of combat sports and performance gyms.
1. Inspection
We begin by inspecting mats, wall pads, and surrounding areas for damage, stains, moisture, and high touch problem areas.
*Ask about our optional ATP testing service to measure organic residue before and after cleaning.
2. Loose Debris Removal
Hair, dust, tape, dirt, and other loose debris are removed using commercial grade vacuuming equipment. This prepares the mat surface for a more thorough and effective cleaning.
3. Professional Deep Scrubbing
The mats are mechanically scrubbed using commercial grade equipment and mat appropriate cleaning products. Special attention is given to high traffic areas, seams, corners, and visible buildup.
4. Disinfection
An EPA registered disinfectant is evenly applied according to its label directions. The surface remains wet for the manufacturer required dwell time to support effective disinfection.
5. Edges, Wall Pads & High Touch Areas
Mat edges, wall pads, corners, and other frequently touched surfaces are carefully cleaned and disinfected. Equipment cleaning and disinfection can also be added to your service.
6. Final Inspection & Proper Drying
We perform a final walkthrough, address any remaining problem areas, and allow the surfaces to dry completely. The space is left clean, refreshed, and ready for athletes to return to training.

My name is Tom and I founded MatCare Pro with my partner because my connection to this work is personal, not just professional.
By day, I'm a healthcare worker. I spend my career in medical settings where cleanliness isn't optional. It's the standard everything else depends on. I bring that same mindset to every mat I clean. By night (and most weekend mornings), I'm on the mats myself. As an active BJJ and Muay Thai student, I know what it feels like to roll on a mat that hasn't been properly cared for and I know how much of a difference it makes when it has. Skin infections, staph, ringworm - these aren't abstract risks to me. They're things I've seen affect training partners and friends, and they're entirely preventable with the right protocols.

I combine healthcare grade cleaning standards with a genuine understanding of what happens on these mats every day - the sweat, the skin contact, the intensity of training. How often should our mats be professionally cleaned?
It depends on your facility's traffic and class schedule, but most facilities benefit from top cleaning at least 1-2 times per week and deep cleaning once a month. We'll assess your specific schedule and training volume to recommend a frequency that keeps your mats safe without overspending on service you don't need.
What is the difference between a Mat Top Clean and a Mat Deep Clean?
A Mat Top Clean focuses on thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the exposed training surface and wall pads. A Mat Deep Clean provides more comprehensive care by removing removable mats (when feasible) to clean the tops, undersides, and subfloor beneath them, where moisture, dirt, and contaminants can accumulate.
Will cleaning disrupt our class schedule?
No. We work around your schedule, not the other way around. Most cleanings are done during late evenings or on weekends — no downtime, no disruption to your programming. We can also accommodate overnight service. We're here to best serve you and the needs of your facility.
What makes your cleaning process different from a standard cleaning service?
General cleaning services aren't built for the unique risks of combat sports facilities - direct skin contact, sweat, and shared surfaces create conditions for bacterial and fungal growth that regular mopping doesn't address. We use a two step disinfection process with hospital grade, EPA registered disinfectants specifically effective against staph, ringworm, and other pathogens common in grappling and striking environments, along with equipment designed for mat surfaces specifically. We can also offer ATP testing to help evaluate surface cleanliness.
